Guard Banding is a technique that is used to reduce the acceptability limits of a variable gage because the gage error is unacceptably large.
Guard Banding can be applied to both one-sided specifications and two-sided specifications.

Something is considered significant when the “p-value”
is less than 1 –the level of significance (1 –the level of significance = alpha risk)

For example, if the level of significance is 95%, then
the alpha risk is 5% and when the “p-value”is 5% or
less, the item is considered significant.
