Tesla's warranty policy for its battery packs is the best in the industry. Tesla offers an 8-year or 100,000-mile warranty for its battery packs. This warranty covers defects in material and workmanship that result in a loss of battery capacity below a certain percentage (9% for the 85-kWh battery, 10% for the 60-kWh battery, and 12% for the 40-kWh battery). Any battery that fails to meet this criteria will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Additionally, Tesla offers a battery replacement program which gives customers the option to purchase a new battery pack at a discounted price if the capacity drops below 70%.
